Default Basketball doesnt seem to like me.

Ok, im 14 playing in a 8th and 7th grade league for my highskool team. I only got around 10 - 15 ppg and im upset about that.... I wanna become a great player in varsity in the future for my school. Im 6'1 can grab rim, dunk on a good day. I got a great jumpshot and good handles. I feel i could score a lot more with all the skills i have, I've played all day during the summer, practicing my shot, playing against older people and stuff. On the playground im a 3 times better player than i am in organized ball. I usually drive in on all the tall 20 year old people on the court but in organized ball i just cannot score on people who are a lot weaker and not as tall . I have no idea why. I have the best jumper on my team but i never shoot because everybody wants me to drive in. I also dont get the passes to me a lot, which im upset about. People who play ball one time in a month are just as good as me in a game while i practice my ass off in the summer. I just cannot get better in a real game no matter how hard I try. If anybody can give me some advice would be great, just wanna become an elite bball player.

Thanks for reading

Work hard. I think you are too nervous just like me. Relax. By the way why can't you drive and do a lay up? Perhaps you may want to learn the finger roll.

Just be confident. Make yourself believe that you can hit every shot. If you start hitting shots in games no one will be able to guard you because they have to respect your shot and then you can blow by them with a little shot fake. Also be sure to keep your head up and if you get doubled teamed on your way to the hoop find the open man. Plus you'll find giving a sweet no look pass to an open teammate for an easy basket is a sweet feeling.

its ok, its normal to all of us, when we play on a organized bball we tend to lose our 50% of our true potential than we have in our practice or pickup games so the solution is practice and work hard, for example my performance on practice is about 100% then when i played organized bball i tend to have game spill up (i lose my true performance because of the pressure) so my performance will only be 60-50% of my true potential, so my solution is to practice harder and having my performance on practice be like 150% so it will compensate when i'm playing in a actual organized bball.

It's probably jsut an experience thing. A player will always get better as they play more games they can work with their team better and stuff like that. Don't let it get you down it aint worth fussing about. It sounds like you aren't the biggest of team players. I say that with respect you may well be but from what i can see you maybe aren't. Not that there's a problem with it but it's alot more important in organised ball as opposed to street to ahve good link ups with your team. You might even be looking in the wrong places when it coems to your stats. You get 10 - 15 ppg which isn't too shabby but that may not be your big strong area. You could be grabbing 15 boards or zipping passes through and getting a tonne of assists. It's not all about the points in an organised game.
