What to you think is the most important thing about basketball?
Shooting
Handling
Jumping
Court vision etc(i dont even know what etc means

).

u can't win a game wif handles, even if u have a 900 inch vertical that will get u no where if u can't get the ball in the hole and being able to see whats on the court and being 'aware' (court vision) won't get u points so its SHOOTING

defence.for the simple reason that if both teams are trying to score more points,and more points,like these guys above me^^^ say,then all ure going to get is a pile of points on top of another.but if u play defence,thats what gets you those big blowouts,by preventing the other team from shooting,and ultimatley scoring.defence wasnt even an option for the most important thing about ball,goes to show the future of ball...

Right on Jimbo. Defense wins championships...when the other team is concerned about scoring and putting the ball in the hoop it can't happen if the defense steals it, blocks a shot, or forces a bad shot.

i think shooting is important. look at jason kapono, all he does is shoot and he's in the NBA (plus he's pretty successful too). if any of you guys say handles are important, then and1 ballers would make it to the nba easily....

i say shooting but jimbo is right. defense is important but at the same if u cant make a bucket ur probably gonna lose anyways.

for me the most important thing is just having a feel for the game. u gotta know what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and just know the game of basketball. like when u dribble the ball has to be " a part of ur hand" and when u shoot u dont have to worry about missing because u practiced it so much that u just know because u feel it after u released it..

Now that's real talk fam...but then again,if shooting was most important,than the professor from and1 could easily tryout for some college team or maybe nba.

its simple...SHOOTING but it aint just that all other things r connected its kindda chain reaction its start with STAMINA...if u aint got stamina u can run the court,shoot,jump,steal and all that,second its DEFENSE...if u aint got defence u r nothin...in big leagues like NBA u can get playin time without good defence...its important cuz good offence starts wit good defence...u must stop the attacker not 2 score..the third part is HANDLES...if u aint got handles and crossin ability u wont get 2 the rim or score...handles will help ya easily 2 shoot,pass or lay up...the forth and final thing is SHOOTING as i write in the beginning but u all know what shootin means...

thats my opinion bout important thing(s)
