Need Help!
I'm 14 years old and I'm 5'6". I'm pretty good at basketball. But my "MAIN" problem is offense. My friend is also 14, but he's 5'9". Everytime I drive in, I stop because I'm to weak to drive. And everytime I go for a lay-up people who are taller then me including him block every single one of my lay-up's. Also his defense is really hard and they seem to be a bit tougher then me. What should I do? I can't shoot under pressure, nor can I drive it in. Can anyone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? There defense are like bugs all over you and you can't move or drive in. The ball always gets stolen off my hand. Please help! Thanks.

Re: Need Help!
classic case of dribbling skills problems. watch bb better ball handling and really learn the normal crossover, then the 1 hand mini cross, then double cross over, and finalyl killer cross over.
you also need to master the pullup jumper and the hop back jumper, which creates space between you and d so u can shoot. also, consider increasing your vertical jump? or shooting the layup a bit higher.
look at allen iverson, hes 6 feet which is real short in nba, but he never gets blocked cuz he shoots high, he can shoot over 7 feet people with no problem and practice laying the ball up at teh top corner of the white square.
You should also practice the up and under and tear drop which can be usefull as hell.

Re: Need Help!
u should have to force the issue, start to drive right at him, where ever he starts to slant his feet, go the other way, and if he slides quickly, do a spin or something, u hav to force the issue. another thing practice ur floaters. when u drive and go up for a shot, raise the ball above ur head and a bit backwards and then shoot it, again, force the issue.

Re: Need Help!
another way is to do what a.i. does, drive real fast and then stop suddenly by crossing between the legs, then jumpshot, i can never do it fast enough tho, you need really advanced ball control and be able to shoot real fast.

Re: Need Help!
uhm yeah build upper body strength try using this link....it doesnt really focus on basketball specifically but itll help especially during the summer
http://www.theplaygroundz.net/traini...odyWorkout.htm
yeah and also try to learn how to do pull up jumpers, itll help a lot if the guy is way bigger then u and u know that u cant drive on him
if u cant shoot under tight pressure try creating some room by driving and then pulling back....if ur friend is 5'9 and is somewhat clumsy itll take him a little bit of time to get back at u which gives u enough time to make an easy jumper/3-pointer
