Default my possibly career-ending injury

for the older posters, you might remember me a little...I haven't been here for awhile and the reason is because I wanted to avoid everything that had to do with basketball. That's because I got injured, not any injury, but an injury that will mean i may never play competitive sports ever again. Basketball was my life, so this really sucked for me since I am barely 16

in fact, i got really depressed for a while, almost to a suicidal state--and if you practiced 3 hours on your shot everyday, and live and breathe bball like i did, there's no way to describe what it's like to have ur dreams completely shattered. so, i tried to start a new life, one without the sounds of squeaking sneakers or the swishing of nets.

but, you know what, after 4 months avoiding the sport I loved, changing the channel when the game comes on, and resorting to everything from alcohol to living life with no real purpose....I don't think that's me. I may be really unlucky, I may have worked harder than anybody I know, I may have spent half of my waking hours shooting hoops, studied better basketball videos, and I may have ran suicides, and jumped around like a kangaroo in my basement and I may have gotten ripped off for all the hard work I put in, and all the dreams I had. But in the end I am who I am. I'm a baller.

What I'm tryign to say is, for all of you who don't think succeeding in this sport is possible, it is, because I succeeded for a while when I had the opportunity. So take the opportunity to enjoy the awesome sport of basketball, because it won't last forever. It may even be shortened, like in my case, and now I only have my memories to guide me. But I worked hard, and I'm proud of that. So practice those free throws while you can. Run those suicides. Do that Vertical Jump Bible.

And oh yeah. I do dream of a comeback.

Hey man even though you might not be able to run on the foot, Wheel-Chair bball is always an option.

Never give up though, if you knew how many times doctors told people they wouldn't be able to run/walk or do anything and it never happened..

Don't wanna get your hopes too high, it might be true, but you never know...

Anyhow, good luck in whatever you decide to do, wheter it is to pursue your b-ball career or find something else to do..

And I loled at the WheelChair B-Ball thing, it always remind me of that part for the movie Ricky Bobby..lol
