Hey, thanks for the encouraging comments, they mean a lot. And yeah, it's the same injury Tim Duncan got. It's where the tendon that runs from your toes to your heel is messed up. Most of the times, it's 6-18 months, but mine is a bit more serious apparently.

By career, i meant my high school career (i'm not crippled for life or anything ), but I will be playing intramural ball thru university hopefully. I really wanted to make a university team, that was my goal; oh well, I'm going to defy what the doctors say, and squeeze in another year of high school bball hopefully btw i would love to coach ball, i will probably do that when i get older

Since I'm eventually going to come back some day, i've been keeping up at least some of my skills. I've been forcing myself to do chair dribbles every once in awhile, and I even set something up in my backyard where I can sit down and shoot (with the rim lowered). I ordered this thing called the Shoot and Star rebounder for Christmas, it's still in the middle of shipping. What it does is rebound most of your shots for you and roll it back to you through a net. I'll keep you posted on how this works out...happy ballin

I don't think it's the same thing. My pain is more near the heel, yours sounds ilke arch pain. Is that what you meant by the middle of your foot?

arch pain isnt nearly as serious, but u should be careful. if its just a tiny pain everytime you land you should keep playing; but once it starts getting worse take a few days off. Also check what kidn of shoes you are wearing, that is usually the reason why your feet hurt. It was the shoes for me (should have listened to those Michael Jordan commercials), and I ignored it until the injury got serious.

Make sure you have good cushoning and there's some arch support, meaning the middle of your shoe goes upwards just a little bit. If it goes up too much in the middle, or not enough, that could be a reason. Also, check if your shoes are too tight in the middle.

I can give you some good toe exercises as well, that will help strengthen your arch.
