Losing
Hey guys, I have found lately that I am losing my love for playing basketball. It's getting really boring to me. I don't want to lose it cause I'm getting recruited by D1 schools and it's really hard. Anybody got any advice?

Re: Losing
i cant understand how you can lose the love of the game, AND you just might get a career or at least a free ride through college out of it. but maybe just play with different people, or like stop playing for a while and start playing again?

Re: Losing
What schools are you getting recruited by and what's your name? I'm interested
But anyway, if you are getting bored, you really don't like basketball that much. Nothing anybody says is going to help you.

Re: Losing
Take some time away for a lil while, kinda like Jordan did.
Stop playing as religiously, maybe go back and look what grasped your love in the first place, maybe go back and watch it again? etc..

Re: Losing
How can you lose love for the sport man? is there any other sport you like? I will never lose love for bball until i can become the best player that i can be. And until i wont miss any shots. ANd because it will never happen it means that i will always have love for bball. There so many things you can work on in basketball...just go out there and practice them

Re: Losing
I'm getting recruited by University of New Mexico, Iowa State, UTEP, UTSA, and some other schools. Those are all the schools that my coach told me about so idk who else is.

Re: Losing
They didn't contact you? That isn't really getting recruited unless they offer you a scholarship ( I'm assuming they didn't yet). But if they are at least interested, that's really good.

Re: Losing
i remember when i was younger, my dad used to take me to the park to practice and to teach me new things in basketball. back then i didnt have the love for the game that i do now because somebody was forcing me to do it and naturally, u react like u dont wanna do it. but during high school, i realized i hadnt gotten much better in the last few years and i needed to practice. so i practiced by my own free will, just doing dribbling drills outside my house for like 2 hours a day...and i started to develop a real LOVE for the game that i dont think ill ever lose
so basically, maybe ur feeling like basketball is a chore for u and ur only doing things for ur coach, parents, or whatever. u needa do things for YOU man. and if u find out that u really dont like basketball then pursue something else....but i would give it a chance

Re: Losing
Another way for looking at it is like sometimes when you eat the same food for a long time you get bored of the same stuff, and don't want it anymore. after long though you will want it again and when you do you will realise why it was your favourite food.
sorry if it don't make sense to anybody, i see it as the easiest way of explaining.
