You DEFINANTLY need to jump a little when shooting so that your legs are generating enough power to get the ball to the basket. You want to make sure that if you are shooting off the drible or from triple threat that you stay low so that you can just go straight into your shot without dipping the ball or squating down and that will make your release quicker. (That should help if your getting your shot blocked) Also if you watch Kobe he'll jump as high as he can off the dribble (but hes pretty close to the bucket when he does it) and then shoot so that its harder to block his shot. You shouldnt jump as high as you can unless your close to the buket and you dont need your legs as much to get the ball to the bucket. Make sure you shoot on your way up and not on the way your way down.
