Default Leg Press V Squat

Hey guys I've finally finished uni for this semester and have some time to focus on my body in the gym. yesterday i had a nice hard leg workout and i can feel them today.

but i did leg press instead of squats...what do you guys think? just as useful for increasing vert? i'm thinking it will be, cos it builds overall strength in your legs still. the only thing is, your body remains stationary during the motion, which probably means it might not be as effective for your whole body and balance and what not. the reason i prefer leg press is because i hate setting up the squat rack thing and also worry about my squat technique at higher weights. with the leg press i can put some high weights on there and just go for it.

anyways i'm going to persever with the leg press, and maybe throw in the occasional squat to change it up. i'll also do calve raises and hamstrings. as i can dunk right now (only just with a run up with no one in my way), i'm hoping this next 7 weeks of no uni can push me over the ledge into "in-game dunking territory."
