Not impossible. I am 5'7, between 5'7 and 5'8 in trainers. I have normal looking reach, but short torso and longish looking legs and neck. My one arm reach in trainers is a little over 7'0. I cannot palm the ball so I need to sort of cradle the ball to dunk it on the lower rims. I need about 7-8 inches minimum clearance above the rim to dunk cleanly with 1 hand. For some reason, with two hands I tend to need a couple more inches more for a clean and controlled dunk. That means a minimum high touch of 10'7 for a clean one hander. Minus say 7'1 and that is a required running vertical of a little over 3'6 or 42 inches. I'd say 43-44 inches is required for me to do a consistent simple dunk. Anyway, I don't really mind - I'm not training my vert as such.
