Overload and Overtraining. Stick with the 3 day Strength program.
I would stick with the Rippetoe's Starting Strength program because almost everyone would benefit from strength and therefore increase the vertical jump. Remember to focus on the holy 3: Squat, deadlift and Bench Press.
Plus being stronger and finishing around the basket, longer distance shooting, better rebounding positioning etc will make you a much better basketball player than a high jumper.
What's the good use of having good hops when you can't even establish your position under the basket?
