I've played with players like that so I know how you feel. It's such a pain to play with people like them because even when they are being double-teamed or whatever and you're open they still don't pass. Anyways best advice I can give you is to put up with them cause if you continue to play basketball for years to come chances are you'll meet more ball hogs. Anyways in games perhaps pass to them less and work on your entire game (eg. shooting, passing, defence etc) and maybe they'll give the ball to you more if they're impressed by you.
