One of the things I've noticed from my personal experience is when I go for a dunk, I try to lower my body about an inch or two more than I usually do, to easily "pull" an inch or two to my vertical leap.
I'll explain that again. If I go for a dunk, and I want to jump with both legs. What I'll do is, just crouch a little more than I usually do before I jump, and I see myself jumping about an inch or two higher.
