No, see brown rice, unlike white, has all the dietary fiber intact. This actually will reduce fat. You need carbs for energy, and the whole grains are the very best way to go. I also mix in a grain called Quinoa, it is from Peru and is very high in protein and amino acids. It is one of the most complete FOODS in the world. I find it hard to eat by it's self, so I mix it with the brown rice after they are both steamed separately.
