I doubt anyone is getting blocked if they get up 50 inches with the ball in their hand. Assuming the 6' person has an 8 foot reach, they are getting the ball 12'2" in the air. I doubt anyone 6'7 in the nba can reach that high from basically a standstill position jump, while having enough power to block the shot. I understand your point, but don't be ridiculous with this they WILL get blocked.

Dunking can help you get more exposure. It really isn't that important, but a lot of people think it is, including scouts/coaches.
