Those are all thinks that can help. They are better then doing nothing. But there are a lot of things that can help you improve but aren't the best way to improve and some of that stuff falls in that category. Calves are strong and you should do calve raises with weight. But 50 reps is to high for optimal training. Sit ups work the hip flexor more then the abs (which is not always a bad thing).
