And of course those drills help. Hell, just walking around and dribbling helps. My view has been lately to practice what you need to do. Obvioulsy I'll warm up certain ways, and definitely use some of their drills, but if I want better control of the basketball to get to the basket, then I will pick two moves to get to the basket. I practice until they become second nature, and then my control over that move is excellent. I have about ten moves that are easily done anywhere because when I dribble, I will devote weeks to certain things instead of being so general.
Maybe this only works for me because I have been doing those other drills to get a good feel for the ball and now I have a good base, I don't know. But what I do, for the most part works for me. A lot of dribbling drills are too extravagant to get worthwhile results, so I stay away from them.
To each his own, I guess. Keep up the good work everyone.

I mainly work on crossover moves and a variety of combinations outside where there is no basket and 2 walls surrounding me.
That way i can not worry about messing up and chasing after the ball. After the moves become second nature to me i take to court and practice there. that works for me.
